Devon Meadows Football Netball Club

Devon Meadows Football Netball Club - Official Facebook Page for Season 2014

Devon Meadows Football Club was among the South West Gippsland Football League clubs to cross to the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League in 1995 when the latter competition absorbed the former in 1995. The side reached a Southern Division grand final in 1997, losing by 83 points to Rosebud, and this remains the closest it has come to claiming a senior grade premiership in the MPNFL.

The last six seasons have seen the Panthers competing in the Casey-Cardinia League and its forerunner the Peninsula Division.

Over the past six seasons the seniors have finished eleventh, seventh, seventh, eleventh, last and sixth in what between 2003 and 2006 was a twelve team competition, with one side fewer competing in 2007 and 2008. Of the club’s other grades the reserves have performed the best, finishing runners-up in both 2004 and 2005.

The Seniors, Reserves and U18"s currently play in the Nepean Division of Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL) since moving from Casey-Cardinia Division in 2012.

Founded in 2002 Devon Meadows Netball Club, affiliated with the football club and commenced playing in the mpnfl.
Initally we started with U13's, U17's, A & B grade teams. A small community we struggled for players throughout our first couple of years and battled to win games with no finals campaigns.

In our 3rd year we were able to field all 3 junior sides yet only B & C grade sides. It was this year that we marked success within our club winning the U15's & B grade premierships! After winning the B grade premiership we were required to field an A grade side the following year and although still struggling for senior players we fielded all 3 senior & junior teams, yet with minimal success.

Starved of any of our teams making finals for next 7 consecutive years and not always being able to field all 3 junior teams every year, 2012 was a new start to our club! It seen our club enter into the Nepean league where all 3 senior grades made finals and our C grade made the grand final yet missing out on the premiership. 2013 also seen all 3 of our senior teams make finals, again with C grade (undefeated all season) making the grand final but again going down, this time only by 1 goal!

May 2014 be the year for C grade to take these long awaited premiership points...

With the move to the Nepean league this unfortunately seen our juniors not play with our senior sides in the saturday competition yet have to play mid week competition at Cranbourne Stadium.
One thing we are extremely excited about in 2014 is the re-addition of our juniors being bought back into the league's Saturday competition. Although this will only see our U17's team play alongside our senior teams this season in the nepean league competition, it is a start and in the near future we hope our U15's and U'13's will also be reunited with our senior competition playing in the Nepean league.

We welcome back our U17's this season to our saturday competition, we are extremely excited as this is something our club look forward to all junior and senior sides being altogether in the near future. Moving from strength to strength each year Devon Meadows Netball Club is a family friendly, social, fun and welcoming club.

With the 2014 pre season training all underway now we look forward to an exciting, bigger and better 2014 season for all our junior and senior teams.
